Who is Berliner Das Original?
Since 2018, Berliner Das Original has been introducing the French public to the authentic Berlin kebab, with a modernized recipe that restores this street food classic to its rightful place after decades of compromised quality and questionable hygiene.
Berliner Das Original focuses on fresh vegetables, carefully selected meat, and impeccable hygiene, transforming the kebab into a genuine culinary specialty, both tasty and refined.
Today, Berliner Das Original is recognized as the benchmark for authentic kebabs in France, with around 30 locations.
Challenge: Optimize sales with reliable terminals
To remain attractive and deliver an optimal customer experience, Berliner Das Original wanted to install kiosks to streamline service and boost upsells.

Solution: More upsells and orders per service
Following a tender process, Berliner Das Original deployed 3–4 Tabesto kiosks in each location. The Tap-to-Pay kiosk model was chosen for its integrated payment and sleek design, offering a more aesthetic alternative to kiosks with a POS terminal and printer.
A smooth and responsive customer experience
The brand wanted highly responsive kiosks to avoid customer frustration. With an RJ45 connection, the Tap-to-Pay kiosks offer instantaneous touch response. Waiting times during peak hours are massively reduced or nearly nonexistent, and teams can work 2–3 times faster during service.
Upsells take off
Tabesto kiosks allow automated and fully configurable upsells across multiple scenarios. Average order value increases naturally, without putting pressure on staff, directly impacting revenue.
Competitive and attractive pricing
Berliner Das Original was also motivated by Tabesto’s excellent value for money, including kiosk cost, subscription, and bank fees.
Data-driven insights to optimize the ticket
The back office enables Berliner Das Original to monitor performance and KPIs and continuously optimize the menu. Testing different suggestion strategies reduced the abandonment rate from 31% in 2023 to 24% in 2025.
Integration with Zelty and Pongo, no POS maintenance
FTap-to-Pay kiosks are integrated with the Zelty POS, simplifying menu management for the teams. Hey Pongo loyalty is also fully integrated into the customer journey. Integrated payment eliminates the need for costly and high-maintenance POS terminals and printers.
